MYSA is one of Kenyas most famous youth movements. Its numerous programs and initiatives include two libraries that help improve access to educational resources, study space and community space, much like the EWRC in Elangata Wuas.

Maria's Libraries

Marias Libraries is setting up a network of libraries around Kenya that are accessible to rural and urban slum populations. The EWRC is part of their network, which we will use to share ideas and resources with other community libraries around Kenya.

Smallbean
|
The EWRC is participating in Smallbean's Citizen Archivist Project, which teaches technology skills to enable local citizens to capture a snapshot of life in their community through oral history interviews, photographs, and video footage.

MPIDO works for social justice in Maa communities across Kenya and has been a key partner in research concerning the effects of land subdivision in Elangata Wuas and neighboring group ranches.

NIA is a NGO based in Kajiado that aims to improve livelihood opportunities and promote social justice for Maasai communities throughout the district.

National Organization of Peer Educators (NOPE)

NOPE works across Kenya to promote peer education as a tool for behavior change and education with respect to a host of social issues; most importantly, the prevention of HIV infections and the mitigation of the effects of AIDS.

Hope Worldwide Kenya provides health programming, service delivery and capacity building. Their Kajiado office will work with the EWRC to provide Swahili language health promotion materials.

One of Africas most prominent health development organizations, AMREF works towards Better health for Africans.

Red Cross Kenya
|
The Red Cross of Kenya's extensive national network and their Kajiado office will partner with the Elangata Wuas Resource Centre to provide diverse educational materials about health, sanitation and environmental issues.

Book Aid International
|
Book Aid International focuses on providing books to libraries in developing countries around the world. Last year they provided half a million books to over 2000 libraries in 13 different countries.

Good Hands Kenya
|
Good Hands works in the Maasai communities surrounding Kajiado. Their numerous projects include increasing access to clean drinking water and promoting organic agriculture for people interested in diversifying their income through farming.

Ungana Young Friends of AMREF and their Kajiado partner, Uvumbuzi Youth Group, are youth organizations committed to making a difference and raising awareness about numerous causes in the communities in which they live.
